People who applied between October and November 2020 for the DV-2022 edition of the U.S. lottery will be able to check if they have been selected to get the Green Card from 6 May 2022 until September 30, 2023.
How to check dv lottery result 2023 (DV-Lottery 2023)
Starting May 8, 2024, you can visit: https://dvprogram.state.gov and press “Check Status“. Then you must enter some information like your last name, your year of birth, and your confirmation code. This code was given to you when you registered, you printed it out or you wrote it down somewhere, and then you click on Submit.
As shown in the image below, the verification process is very simple and consists of four steps.
- “Confirmation Number “: fill in the registration confirmation number that was assigned to you. If you no longer have it, simply click on “Forgot Confirmation Number”.
- “Last/Family Name “: simply enter your last name
- “Year of Birth “: enter your year of birth (4 digits)
- “Authentication “: for security reasons, enter the characters that appear in the image.
Once these four steps are completed, all you must do is take a deep breath and click on the “Submit” button.
Only 55,000 people will be selected to get the Green Card, while 12 million people tried their luck to win the DV-Lottery 2022.
Selected entrants are encouraged to complete the online DS-260 application immediately to schedule an interview appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
Please note: The Department of State will not mail notification letters or notify selectees by email. U.S. embassies and consulates will not provide a list of selectees. Entrant Status Check on the E-DV website is the ONLY means by which the Department of State notifies selectees of their selection. If you receive notification through the Electronic Diversity Visa (E-DV) website that you have been selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program, you must successfully complete the steps on the following pages before a consular interview can be scheduled to determine if you will receive a visa. You should complete these steps as soon as possible.
If you receive notification through the E-DV website that you have been selected for further processing in the DV Program, and you are physically present in the United States, you may be eligible to adjust your status to obtain permanent residence through the DV Program.

“Approximately 132,404 applicants have been registered and notified and are now eligible to apply for an immigrant visa,” the bulletin explains.
“Since it is likely that some of the first 55,000 people registered will not pursue their case for visa issuance, this higher number should ensure that all DV-2022 numbers are used.”
